September dogs

September Dogs is a four piece band located in Lake County, Fl.                            Central Fl an hour outside of Orlando. An hour from either coast as well.

Our music is definitely rock. We do mix of old and new, ranging from Peter Frampton to Alterbridge. A few influences would include the progressive style of Yes and Genesis, the harmonies of the Eagles and Little River band, the funk of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, power ballads of the 80’s, the guitar styles of Eddie Van Halen, Robin Trower, Mark Tremonti, Ritchie Kotzen.

September Dogs is Cate Rettig, Michael Rettig, John Chretien, Craig Griffin.

Cate was born in NYC, brought up in a classical household, her mother studied  piano at Juliard.  Cate is the lead singer and 2nd guitar. While living in Miami, she did a lot of studio work, and sang with an originals band doing a fusion of jazz, latin, rock and blues. Not a diva, she moves gear, helps set up and break down. Just one of the guys.

Michael is the lead guitarist and second lead vocals. Married to Cate, Michael is from Buffalo, NY.  He is a studied musician, and plays the bass guitar and drums as well as guitar. Michael is an accomplished sound tech and runs sound for many events and other bands. He and Cate have been working together for almost 2 decades. Loving every minute of it!

John Chretien is the drummer and backing vocals. From Massachusetts, John attended Berkley School of Music. John is one of the best drummers in Central Fl. He is skilled at the different styles and genres, and has played in many different bands from the great white north to Florida. John has been with us for 13 years and we are blessed to have him behind the kit.

Craig Griffin. The bass player for September Dogs. Craig is from Forth Worth, TX. He is a Marine. Golf Pro in the Villages, FL. He has worked and played in Central Fl for 20 years. Such a nice man, he knows everybody. The storyteller.  Craig is quite versatile on the bass, like a walking catalog, and willing to try anything. Not locked into any one style, although he admittedly loves Collective Soul.
